The Construction of Welby Community Hall

History of Welby Community Hall.

Welby Community Hall was a project funded jointly by Wingecarribee Shire Council grants and Welby Neighbours Association by fund raising and markets. The goal was to build a Local Hall, as the Old Church was no longer going to be used, and the Hall would be used for Community Meetings and Get-togethers, Local Voting Booths, Garage Sales, Markets, Parties and Functions, BBQ's, Children's Playgroup and hiring to the public. The Hall was built by Welby Neighbours Association and Welby's local community including their children (Too many people to mention) with thousands of hours of volunteering and hard work, and this is a community achievement of which we are very proud. Welby Hall was officially opened on 21st October 1990. The Hall is currently maintained mostly by volunteer help and Wingecarribee Shire Council.
